Welcome
This is a place where all are able to encounter Jesus on a personal level. The Water we need most is SPIRITUAL. This primary need puts each of us on Common Ground!
About Us
Common Ground is a church for all people to flourish. It is a place where all are able to encounter Jesus on a personal level and live a life of freedom and boldness in their calling. We exist so hope and love can be found.
The vision for Common Ground emerged from the encounter between Jesus and the Woman at the well. They were from different backgrounds, but they were both in need of water. They had something in common, and that broke down the walls of societal norms and the walls around her heart. She left that encounter forever changed. Our hope is for people to find this same hope, healing, and freedom!
The mission of Common Ground is to unite people with the Gospel and honor what we have in common. Our prayer is that Common Ground would be a home to all ages and represent the diversity of our beautiful city. We are one family operating in power and unity to build the Kingdom of God. We desire to have a place where the Holy Spirit has room to move, we can not do anything apart from Him. Worship will be a major part of what Jesus wants to do within the hearts of us all, and we must strive to have the church look like heaven, meaning people from every tribe, nation and tongue. We desire to have gatherings where people are able to hear the message from all walks of life and nationalities simultaneously in one message not broke apart. We will always stand for truth and fight for all!
Our lead pastors, Ian and LeAndra Doss, have a heart to reach all people with the life- transforming message of Jesus by meeting them right where they are. This means loving the broken, the downcast, and the hurting. Their desire is to see people set free and become empowered by the Holy Spirit to reach their God-given destiny authentically.
Why Aurora?
Aurora is called a "NEW DAWN" and we're continuing to see this be a reality as it's the 3rd largest city in Colorado; with the population forecast is exceed 387,468 by 2022. It's now considered the most diverse town within the city. Aurora continues to develop on a larger scale year over year. Thus having more and more families move to occupy this great city. While Aurora is growing on so many levels; over 38% never attend Church of any regard.
This is a prime opportunity for the church to be in the middle of the growth and help lead and guide; as more communities are being built it means more families are looking for a community to connect with.
